winery TENUTA FORESTA
Hi, I’m Olga, the owner of a small young winery in Piedmont. And now I’ll tell you our story
In 4 words about us
-1-
family
It was a dream of our dad, supported by my elder brother, mom and me. Dad passed away in the very beginning of the project, but we decided to make his dream come true.
-2-
estate
We have 4 hectares of vineyards. We use grapes from a vine, which we take care of all year round
-3-
uncommon wines and ...
We really like to experiment and we succeed a lot. Have you ever tried our skin-contact Viognier, vinified in amphora? Or easy to drink Grignolino?
-4-
... classic interpretation
Of course we make some traditional wine. You couldn’t name more classic for our territory wine than Barbera d’Asti Superiore Colli Astiani
How did we get here?
My dad was an entrepreneur who dreamed of walking through his own vineyards with his beloved wife in his old age. I worked as a project manager in startups …
  • One sms
One day I receive a message from him: Olga, will you agree to run the winery? Me: mmm, yes, of course, dad (in my mind: in how many years will this happen?..)
    2011
  • Too fast
Just 2 months later, we already signed a contract and were worried that our vineyards were freezing 12 degrees. It took me 9 months more to realize everything, leave my job in IT, and start working with my dad.
    2012
  • I promised
The strong-willed romantic, as I call my father, suddenly passed away on the 3rd December. And only 3 days before that, I promised him that I would not leave the winery.
    2013
  • Reconstruction of the cellar
In April 2014 my brother and I began renovating the cellar. We finished reconstruction work only in 2018.
    2014
  • Our first vintage
Finally, we were able to harvest and carry out the entire production cycle in our own cellar.
    2019
Here they are: Our Wines
The wines with flowers on the labels are easy to drink, light versions. For those with birds better to think of some food pairing or maybe some special event…
Light, fruity and summer wine, sapid and unoaked, easy to drink and to pair with food
Light, fragrant and easy to drink wine, made from the very interesting local grape (maybe my favourite one)
Monferrato DOC Dolcetto
Deep purple wine with flavors of violet flowers and black ripe fruits, high acidity, low alcohol and notable tannins
Barbera d’Asti DOCG
A contemporary version of the everyday wine of the Piedmontese people
92 points by James Suckling. 100% Viognier, modern interpretation: skin contact fermentation in amphora and short ageing in oak barrels
If you try it blind, you'll never guess what variety is made of. 90 points by James Suckling
Deep color, abundant tannins and rich aromatics
Classic rustic, a bit "difficult" version, like the Barberas of the old times, in order to honor the noble age of the vineyard (1968)
… and these two wines are very special for us. For Nebbiolo we take grapes from vineyards in Barbaresco and Sparkling wine by traditional method is my dream that came true.
Brut Rosato, Metodo Classico
This wine is my personal passion. Chardonnay with a little bit Dolcetto just to give a hint of rose color. Fruity and fresh with complexity of sparkling wine made by traditional (Champagne) method with second fermentation in the bottle.
Wine made by accident, but couldn’t become better if made by purpose.
Very light (11% alc), high acidity and … to feel better the complexity of its flavors, don’t chill it too much
91 points by James Suckling for the 2020th vintage. Grapes from hills in the center of Barbaresco. Very elegant and delicate.
